Rachel Brulé is an Assistant Professor of Global Development Policy at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, Boston University. She holds additional affiliations as Graduate Faculty in BU’s Department of Political Science, Core Faculty at the Global Development Policy Center, and affiliated faculty at the Institute for Economic Development. Her research focuses on political institutions, social norms, and gender dynamics, with a regional emphasis on India and South Asia. She has been a visiting scholar in the Department of Institutions and Political Inequality during summers 2018–2023, with plans to return in 2024.
Her notable work includes the 2020 book Women, Power, and Property: The Paradox of Gender Equality Laws in India, which explores legal frameworks and gender equity in South Asia.
