Rachel Ablow is a Professor of English at the University at Buffalo (SUNY), affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on 19th-century literature and culture, particularly the Victorian era, with expertise in novel theory, medical humanities, and affective histories. She holds editorial roles for Victorian Literature and Culture and co-edits the Norton Anthology's Victorian volume.
Her major publications include Victorian Pain (Princeton, 2017) and The Marriage of Minds (Stanford, 2007). Her work bridges literary analysis with interdisciplinary topics like pain narratives, legal history, and sensory studies.
