Rachael Thoms is a Lecturer in Aural Skills and vocal pedagogy at the School of Music, The Australian National University. She holds a PhD in vocal pedagogy (2024), Master of Music (2011), and Bachelor of Music (2010), all from ANU. Her research integrates voice science, neuroscience, and psychology to reform classical/jazz pedagogy for hybrid vocalists. Key interests include improvisation training, vocal sustainability, and gender analysis in jazz.
