Rachael Hammond is a Lecturer of English in the College of Arts and Sciences at Shenandoah University, specializing in composition and British literature. She holds a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in English with a concentration in creative writing from James Madison University. Hammond completed professional development at the McIntire Business Institute (UVA) and was a Betsy Magness Class XI Fellow at the Center for Creative Leadership.
Her research focuses on composition pedagogy, creative writing instruction, and British literary periods from pre-1660 to the Victorian era. She is recognized for her article offering communication strategies for engaging with college faculty, published in College Success (2014). Hammond values student engagement, noting SU students bring 'compassion and enthusiasm to the classroom.'
