Dr. Rachael Gribble is a Lecturer in War & Psychiatry at King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). She is affiliated with the King’s Centre for Military Health Research and the LGBTQ Mental Health Research Group. Her primary research explores the impact of occupation on family wellbeing, focusing on military families, veterans, and emergency responders. She holds a PhD on the mental health of women partnered with UK Armed Forces personnel.

Her research interests span military and veteran health, family health dynamics, intimate partner violence, and LGBTQ mental health. She employs mixed-methods approaches to investigate how occupational risks influence family wellbeing. Recent work includes studies on relationship satisfaction among military couples, trauma-informed care in women’s prisons, and the psychosocial needs of veteran families.
Dr. Gribble’s publications analyze intimate partner violence in military contexts, alcohol use among service personnel, and the mental health of spouses/partners of veterans. She has led projects funded by the Forces in Mind Trust and the Royal British Legion.
