Rachael German serves as Program Director for the Applied Health Sciences bachelor's program at Wayne State University's Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences since March 2024, and concurrently directs the Athletic Training master’s program in the College of Education since January 2023. Previously, she held faculty positions as Assistant Professor (2022-2023) and Lecturer (2017-2022) in the College of Education.
Her academic credentials include:
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Kinesiology, Wayne State University (2025)
- Master of Science in Exercise Physiology with Athletic Training Concentration, Kent State University (2013)
- Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine, Central Michigan University (2009)
Her research integrates clinical athletic training with cultural competence in healthcare education. She examines organizational administration in athletic training, human physiology applications, and multicultural approaches to health services, emphasizing how cultural foundations impact kinesiology education and patient care delivery. Her work bridges clinical practice standards with inclusive pedagogical frameworks in health sciences.
Dr. German maintains active professional engagement through National Athletic Trainers Association and Michigan Athletic Trainers Society memberships since 2008, alongside current clinical certifications including Board of Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC #2000001476) and Graston Technique® Specialist.
