Rabin Dahal, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine and affiliated faculty at the Yale Institute for Global Health. He specializes in geriatric psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine, focusing on mental health challenges in older adults such as depression, anxiety, and dementia. His clinical and research work integrates psychological and physical health care to improve patient outcomes. Dr. Dahal completed his medical training at the Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine in Nepal, followed by psychiatry residency at Berkshire Medical Center. He further specialized through fellowships in geriatric psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine.
His research interests span psychiatric comorbidities in transplant patients, bipolar disorder spectrum disorders, and optimizing antipsychotic therapy in clinical settings. Notable collaborations include work with Paula Zimbrean, MD, on transplant psychiatry and mood disorders.
