Professor RAJARAMAN Eri is the Head of Department and Associate Dean (Biology) at RMIT University's School of Science. His research focuses on clinical sciences, nutrition, public health, and medical physiology with particular emphasis on gut health, dietary fiber applications, inflammatory bowel disease mechanisms, and translational therapies. He leads projects on probiotics, food additives' health impacts, and innovative drug delivery systems. His work integrates interdisciplinary approaches to address metabolic disorders, chronic colitis, and neurogastroenterological conditions.
Research interests include:
- Functional food development and dietary interventions
- Role of microbiota in gastrointestinal diseases
- Stem cell therapies for enteric neuropathies
- Pharmacological modulation of PTSD memory
Recent publications emphasize sustainable food solutions, anti-inflammatory therapies, and policy frameworks for food safety in Southeast Asia. Professor Eri actively supervises PhD/Masters students in topics ranging from seaweed-based bio-stimulants to prebiotic interventions for aging populations.
He serves on the NHMRC Grant Review Panel (2024–2025) and collaborates globally on translational research projects. His lab explores innovative solutions at the intersection of nutrition, microbiology, and regenerative medicine.
