R. Shehayeb

R. Shehayeb is a Doctoral Researcher at the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER) and Dresden University of Technology (TUD), pursuing PhD studies through the Dresden Leibniz Graduate School (DLGS) program. Since July 2024, they serve as Scientific Coordinator of the Leibniz Research Network "Earth and Societies" at IOER, focusing on drought and heat risk assessment for urban green infrastructure within TUD's Faculty of Environmental Sciences.

Research Interests: Shehayeb's work integrates hydro-meteorological risk modeling, nature-based solutions, and climate adaptation strategies for urban ecosystems. Their doctoral framework develops spatio-temporal indicators to evaluate drought/heat vulnerabilities in green infrastructure, addressing critical gaps in sustainable urban planning under climate change.

Labs and Teams: Affiliated with IOER's Built Environment - Resources and Environmental Risks research area (FB R), Shehayeb coordinates the Leibniz Research Network "Earth and Societies" to advance interdisciplinary climate resilience research.
