V. Krishnan is a Doctoral Candidate at the Dresden Leibniz Graduate School (DLGS), affiliated with the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban Development (IOER) and the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at Technische Universität Dresden (TUD). His research focuses on redefining urban spaces in the digital age through the innovative concept of Place-as-a-Service (PlaaS), which integrates user-generated hyperlocal content into spatial decision-making and urban resilience frameworks.

By leveraging cybernetic theory and Soft Systems Methodology (SSM), his work aims to create sustainable, adaptive urban environments that respond dynamically to user needs.

The core of his doctoral work introduces Place-as-a-Service (PlaaS), a novel conceptual model that extends beyond commercial applications into urban planning and public space management. This framework envisions cities as living platforms where real-time, context-aware data enhances decision support and fosters resilient communities. His interdisciplinary approach bridges architecture, urban informatics, phenomenology, and digital sociology.

Krishnan has contributed to academic instruction as a Visiting Lecturer at the National Institute of Technology Calicut, where he taught in the Department of Architecture and Planning. He has also worked professionally as an Associate Architect and Visual Design Lead, bringing practical design experience into his academic inquiry.
