R. Aubrey Kent is a Professor at Temple University's School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM), with a joint appointment in the Human Resource Management Department at the Fox School of Business and Management. He joined Temple in 2008 and has held key leadership roles, including founding director of the Sport Industry Research Center (SIRC), Chairperson of STHM (2010–2016), and Associate Dean (2016–17).
His research focuses on industrial/organizational psychology and corporate social responsibility within the sport industry. His work bridges sport management and human resource practices, emphasizing ethical leadership, organizational behavior, and social impact in sport organizations.
Dr. Kent has supervised 15 doctoral students, four of whom received NASSM research awards. He teaches management and strategy in sport and leads international study programs in Europe.

Through the Sport Industry Research Center (SIRC), Dr. Kent has led research projects for the PGA TOUR, NFL, and NHL, and conducted program evaluations for non-profit youth sport organizations in partnership with the Philadelphia Youth Sports Collaborative. His work integrates academic rigor with real-world industry application.
He has published in leading journals such as Journal of Sport Management, Journal of Business Ethics, and Journal of Applied Sport Psychology, and has presented research across the U.S., Canada, South America, and Europe.
