Elizabeth Taylor is an Associate Professor with tenure at Temple University's School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM), where she joined in 2017 and was promoted in 2024. She serves as Co-Director of the Athletic Innovation, Research, and Education (AIRE) Lab, focusing on organizational dynamics within the sport industry.
Her educational journey includes a PhD in Kinesiology and Sport Studies (Sport Management concentration) from the University of Tennessee, complemented by a Master of Science in Statistics and graduate certificates in Women’s Studies and College Teaching. She earned her Master’s in Kinesiology and Health (Sport Psychology) from Miami University—where she served as Assistant Volleyball Coach—and her undergraduate Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where she was a student-athlete in volleyball and track.
Dr. Taylor’s research centers on organizational culture and well-being in sport, specifically examining gender discrimination, sexual harassment, work-family interface, and burnout among sport employees. Her work directly engages with intercollegiate athletic departments nationwide to foster healthier workplace environments. Recent publications reveal a critical focus on post-pandemic workforce shifts, leadership bias, NIL policies, and the psychological toll of toxic workplace climates.
Her scholarly impact is evidenced by 66 peer-reviewed publications in top journals including the Journal of Sport Management and Sport Management Review, alongside presentations at over 120 international conferences. Analysis of her recent work shows increasing emphasis on intersectional gender issues, workplace toxicity, and systemic barriers in sport organizations.
