Dr. Rob Nijenkamp is an Educational Data Scientist at the Center for Information Technology, University of Groningen. His work focuses on the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and educational technology. He holds an affiliation with the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) as an External Member of the Board of Examiners for both Physics and Chemistry Clusters.
His research interests include learning analytics, AI applications in education, and the cognitive impacts of resit exam policies. Notably, he has explored how the availability of resits influences student study-time investments, contributing to educational policy debates.
Nijenkamp has been recognized with the Snijders-Kouwer Award 2018 for his contributions to academic research. His work often combines experimental psychology with data-driven methodologies, as seen in his development of the ART method for auditory memory testing.
