Réjean Lapointe

Réjean Lapointe is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Université de Montréal, affiliated with the CRCHUM (Centre de recherche du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal) and the Institut du cancer de Montréal (ICM). His research focuses on immune system interactions with cancers, tumor antigens, and immunotherapeutic strategies.

Research Expertise:

• Interaction between the immune system and breast/kidney cancers
• Tumor antigen identification and MHC presentation mechanisms
• Role of IDO enzyme in immunosuppression
• Intra-tumoral microbiome effects on cancer outcomes

• FRQS network grants for cancer immunotherapy and cell therapy (e.g., ThéCell network)
• MITACS projects targeting fungal pathogens and cancer vaccines

Supervised Students: Over 15 doctoral and master’s students since 2006, focusing on immune profiling, vaccine development, and tumor immunology.

Affiliations: Leads research units at CRCHUM and ICM, managing a breast cancer tissue bank for the FRSQ network.
