Quentin Michaudel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University. His research focuses on the interface of organic chemistry, catalysis, and polymer science, particularly in developing novel catalytic processes and polymerizations for applications in energy, sustainable materials, and therapeutics. He leads the Michaudel Lab, which explores topics like stereoselective metathesis polymerizations, SuFEx click chemistry, and heteroaryne-based polymers.
Education: B.S. (2008) and M.S. (2010) from École Normale Supérieure de Lyon; Ph.D. (2015) from The Scripps Research Institute; Postdoctoral Fellow at Cornell University (2015–2018).
Research Interests: Catalysis-driven polymer synthesis, sustainable materials design, and stereoretentive polymerizations. His lab emphasizes training in synthetic organic chemistry and polymer characterization techniques.
Notable Awards:
- NSF CAREER Award (2022)
- ACS PMSE Young Investigator Award (2022)
- Thieme Chemistry Journals Award (2021)
Current projects include developing stereoselective olefin metathesis for functional polymers and leveraging SuFEx chemistry for modular synthesis. His group collaborates on interdisciplinary projects, such as photomediated cross-coupling reactions and antibacterial cationic polymers.
