Research interests include the historical evolution of financial systems, global and imperial history, and theoretical frameworks in international relations. His book States and the Masters of Capital: Sovereign Lending, Old and New (Columbia University Press, 2023) analyzes the transformation of sovereign lending over two centuries, blending political economy and historical analysis.
Recent publications explore themes such as early modern state systems, central banker influence on sovereign debt hierarchies, and theoretical approaches to historical change. His work bridges historical analysis with contemporary political economy challenges.
