Quentin B. Schäfer

Quentin B. Schäfer is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Competition and Private Law at the University of Strathclyde. Previously, he was a PhD researcher at the University of Cambridge with scholarships from Wright Rogers and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. His research examines competition law, intellectual property, and AI regulation, with publications in leading journals.

Schäfer's research focuses on the intersection of competition law with intellectual property rights, particularly in technology markets. He investigates regulatory frameworks for AI, algorithmic decision-making, and digital market practices. His work has been recognized through writing awards and nominations.

He teaches intellectual property and competition law courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including modules on IP, commerce and innovation (LLM), and Competition Law (UG/Honours). Schäfer has contributed to policy consultations and provided expert input on digital assets, exclusionary abuses, and football governance regulation.
