Puspa Pant is a Research Fellow at the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol, affiliated with the College of Health, Science and Society. She holds a PhD in Injury Prevention from UWE Bristol, following MA (Population Studies) from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and MSc (Public Health) from the University of Aberdeen. Her current roles include leading the Community Engagement and Involvement (CEI) theme in the NIHR-funded SAFETrIP Nepal Project and serving as a Project Officer for the NHS England/UWE collaboration, Diverse Images for Healthcare.
Her research focuses on injury prevention, particularly child injuries in low-resource settings, community-based interventions, and global health equity. Notable contributions include developing a community mobilization model using mothers' groups in rural Nepal and advocating for drowning prevention and road safety policies. She has received the Gold Medal from Nepal’s President for her doctoral work on child injury epidemiology.
Pant’s work spans epidemiological studies, policy analysis, and community engagement. Recent articles emphasize drowning prevention, road safety, and post-earthquake public health resilience. She actively contributes to editorial boards, including Injury Prevention (BMJ), and engages with media and social platforms (@Puspa_RPant) to amplify safety advocacy.
