Pushpa Arabindoo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at University College London (UCL), where she leads the Geographies of Infrastructure module and co-directs the UCL Urban Laboratory. She previously served as EURIAS Junior Fellow at the Paris Institute of Advanced Studies and holds a PhD from the London School of Economics. Her research examines urban transformations through critical lenses of political ecology, infrastructure, and middle-class politics, with Chennai, India as her primary empirical focus.
Arabindoo's work bridges human geography, urban studies, and political ecology, investigating themes including:
- Infrastructural ecologies and metabolic urbanism
- Middle-class spatial politics and public space
- Resettlement geographies and urban marginalization
- Water governance and environmental justice
- Southern urban theory and postcolonial urbanism
