معرفی
Pu Xia is an Assistant Professor in Precision Toxicology affiliated with the Biosciences Centre for Environmental Research and Justice and the Birmingham Institute for Sustainability and Climate Action at the University of Birmingham. Their research focuses on environmental toxicology, precision toxicology, and the molecular mechanisms of toxicant effects. They actively collaborate on projects addressing combined pollution effects, endocrine disruptors, and high-throughput toxicity prediction.
Key research interests include transcriptome analysis, toxicogenomics, and environmental justice implications of chemical exposures. Pu Xia has contributed to over 37 peer-reviewed publications since 2016, with recent work emphasizing combined pollution pathways, lipid accumulation mechanisms in hepatocytes, and comparative safety analyses of phthalate substitutes. Their work links molecular pathways to toxicant effects, bridging experimental and computational approaches.
Pu Xia leads or co-leads three active research projects, including a BBSRC-funded initiative for high-throughput Daphnia monitoring and a Unilever-funded project on machine learning models for toxicity prediction. Their research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to clean water, sustainable cities, and responsible consumption.
