معرفی
Zelieann Craig is an Associate Professor and Assistant Dean for Research at the University of Arizona's College of Agriculture, Life & Environmental Sciences. Her primary affiliation is with the School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences. Her research focuses on understanding how environmental chemicals, particularly phthalates and endocrine disruptors, impact reproductive health and ovarian function. She employs mouse models and in vitro systems to study molecular mechanisms of toxicity, including effects on steroidogenesis, DNA repair, and folliculogenesis.
Her work bridges toxicology with reproductive biology, addressing topics like placental efficiency under phthalate exposure, DNA damage repair disruptions, and the implications of personal care product chemicals on ovarian health. Craig also contributes to academic leadership through her role as Assistant Dean, overseeing research initiatives within the college. Her laboratory uses proteomics, transcriptomics, and histological techniques to evaluate chemical-induced pathologies in reproductive systems.
Key areas of investigation include the transgenerational effects of prenatal chemical exposure, interactions between environmental contaminants and metabolic pathways, and developing in vitro models to predict toxicant impacts on human health. Her research emphasizes translational implications for public health policies and consumer safety guidelines.
