Priyanka Srivastava is an Associate Professor of Economics and History at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, affiliated with the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences. Her research focuses on labor history, class dynamics, gender politics, and colonial urbanism, particularly in South Asia. She holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Cincinnati (2012), an M.Phil. from Jawaharlal Nehru University (1997), and an M.A. from Allahabad University (1994).

Her teaching includes courses on South Asian economic history, labor studies, and the British Empire. She has received multiple teaching awards, including the Teaching for Inclusiveness, Diversity, and Equity Fellowship (2017–2018) and Flex Grants for pedagogical innovation (2013–2016). Her research has been supported by grants from Mellon Foundation, the College of Humanities and Fine Arts, and others.
Recent publications explore maternal labor rights, urban welfare discourses, and gender in colonial India. She actively participates in interdisciplinary initiatives, such as organizing the Economic History and Development Workshop in the Department of Economics. Her work bridges economic, social, and gender histories, emphasizing marginalized voices in colonial and modern contexts.
