Priya Gangwani serves as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University and works clinically as a physical therapist at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana. She earned her Master's in Health Science from the University of Indianapolis in 2005, which catalyzed her dual career in healthcare and community advocacy.
Her research and professional interests center on Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Sciences, and Community Health, with specialized focus on Immigrant Health and Pediatric Rehabilitation. She bridges clinical practice with systemic support for vulnerable populations, emphasizing culturally responsive care for immigrant families and children.
Gangwani co-founded Grassroot Projects in 2017 to address displacement challenges experienced by immigrant communities, mirroring her own international student journey. Key initiatives include Care and Connect—delivering customized essential supplies through bilingual staff—and Sponsor a Passion, providing extracurricular scholarships in sports, arts, and STEM that have transformed experiences for children from 32+ countries.
Her leadership secured a United Way grant to expand early literacy programs, demonstrating tangible impact: Grassroot Projects served over 1,200 children in Indianapolis alone last year and operates across 30+ cities in Indiana and Washington. Gangwani personally engages with program participants to ensure alignment with the core mission of preserving childhood normalcy for immigrant youth.
