Priscilla Reyna-Vasquez is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, National Certified Counselor, and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™ at St. Mary's University, where she teaches courses in the Department of Counseling and Human Services. Her work focuses on play therapy, expressive techniques, and TeleMental Health, with a strong emphasis on counselor wellness and self-care.
She actively contributes to professional ethics and innovation through her roles on the Association for Play Therapy (APT) Ethics and Practices Guidelines Committee and as a member of APT’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Task Force, shaping ethical standards for play therapists. Her recent research explores child counselor preparedness and online expressive modalities in play therapy.
Notable scientific contributions include:
- Advancing Teleplay Therapy frameworks
- Integrating neuroscience into trauma-informed counseling
- Promoting counselor self-care practices
