Prerna Aneja is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of East Anglia (UEA), affiliated with the School of Psychology. She holds additional roles as Local Network Lead for UEA's UK Reproducibility Network (UKRN) and organiser of ReproducibiliT(U)EA journal club. Her research focuses on developmental science, cognitive development, and socio-cultural influences on visual cognition in infancy, employing eye-tracking and machine learning techniques. External roles include teaching Psychology of the Individual at INTO UEA (2021–2024).
Her work explores individual differences in visual cognition across naturalistic and laboratory settings, with a focus on rural India and the UK. Key themes include joint attention, working memory, and cross-cultural comparisons. She advocates for open science practices and has contributed to discussions on normative development myths through media engagement.
Research collaborations span global contexts, evidenced by her studies in high- and low-resource settings. Her publications address technological innovations in infant cognition assessment and challenges in defining 'typical' developmental trajectories. She actively participates in interdisciplinary networks to advance reproducibility and translational research in developmental psychology.
