Professor Prathivadi Anand specializes in environmental economics and public policy at the University of Bradford's School of Social Sciences, Department of Peace Studies and International Development. His work focuses on the intersection of urban economy, environment, and sustainability, with significant contributions to SDG6, SDG10, SDG11, and SDG13.
- Guest-edited a special issue of Telecommunications Policy on smart city governance
- Co-edited two Cambridge University Press books on the Capability Approach
- Principal Editor of the Handbook of BRICS and Emerging Economies (Oxford University Press, 2021)
He has held leadership roles including Head of Department of Peace Studies and International Development (2019-2024) and Head of the Centre for International Development (2010-2015). Currently chairs the 2025 Human Development and Capability Association Annual Conference on 'Culture, Peace, and Capabilities'.
