Dr. Prasanti Kotagiri is a Senior Research Fellow and Laboratory Head in the Department of Immunology at Monash University, and a Consultant Nephrologist at Alfred Hospital. She holds a joint clinician-scientist role, focusing on B cell receptor repertoire analysis and immune transcriptome studies in aging, autoimmunity, and transplantation. Her work bridges clinical practice and research, leveraging technologies like CITE-seq and immune repertoire sequencing.
Education: MBBS (Monash University), BMedSc (University of Oxford), PhD (University of Cambridge). Awards include NHMRC EL1 Fellowship, Fulbright Fellowship, and Viertel Clinical Investigator Award. She led projects on IgA nephropathy (Stanford collaboration), aging/autoimmunity (Cambridge), and transplantation outcomes (Austin/Monash Health).
Key research themes include B cell antigenic breadth post-infection/vaccination and therapeutic strategies for autoimmune diseases. Active grants and collaborations span institutions globally, with a focus on translational medicine and SDG contributions.
