Prasad Yarlagadda

Professor Prasad Yarlagadda OAM holds the dual role of Head of School and Dean of the School of Engineering at the University of Southern Queensland. His academic background includes a BTech(Mech) from Nagarjuna University, MEng from Bharathiar University, and a PhD from Indian IT. He is an accredited translator in Telugu and speaks Hindi.

His research spans nanotechnology-driven antimicrobial surface engineering, 3D-printed bioresorbable scaffolds, hospital capacity optimization, and sustainable energy systems. Notable contributions include developing bactericidal nanostructured surfaces for medical implants and analytical frameworks for healthcare resource planning. He has been recognized with the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for his contributions.

Research interests focus on applying nanotechnology to biomedical challenges, additive manufacturing for personalized medicine, and optimizing healthcare systems through mathematical modeling. His work integrates engineering principles with clinical applications, emphasizing translational research.
