معرفی
Pranava Teja Surukuchi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh. He is affiliated with the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences and leads research in experimental particle physics, focusing on neutrino properties. His work centers on determining neutrino mass and exploring neutrinoless double beta decay through collaborations like CUORE, CUPID, and Project 8.
Education: Ph.D. in Physics from Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago), followed by a Postdoctoral Research Associate role at Yale University.
Research Interests: Experimental studies of neutrino mass via cyclotron radiation emission spectroscopy (CRES), searches for neutrinoless double beta decay using cryogenic bolometers, and investigations into short-baseline neutrino oscillations with the PROSPECT experiment. His projects aim to resolve fundamental questions in particle physics, including the origin of neutrino mass and potential new physics beyond the Standard Model.
Collaborations: Key roles in the CUORE (current) and CUPID (upcoming) experiments for neutrinoless double beta decay, and the Project 8 experiment for direct neutrino mass measurement. He also contributes to PROSPECT, studying reactor antineutrinos and sterile neutrino searches.
Advising & Grants: Actively recruiting graduate students and postdocs. His work is supported by collaborations with global institutions and funding from experimental physics programs.
Labs/Teams: Principal investigator in neutrino research at the University of Pittsburgh, collaborating with international teams on cutting-edge detector technologies and data analysis methods.
