Pnina Levine is a Senior Lecturer at the Curtin Law School, part of Curtin University's Faculty of Business and Law. She serves as Deputy Head of the Curtin Law School and holds a prestigious position as Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK). Her academic journey includes a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia, alongside a current PhD candidature at Curtin University. Before entering academia in 2014, she worked as a Senior Associate in a top-tier law firm specializing in commercial litigation, trade practices, and insolvency, with secondments at the WA Department of Commerce and a major bank.
Her teaching portfolio includes leading courses in Trusts Law, Contract Law, and Company Law at Curtin, alongside coordinating the Company Law for Business unit. Her research focuses on higher education law, particularly academic freedom, free speech, and university responses to misconduct. She has published extensively in law reviews and contributed to media discussions on these topics.
Levine has received multiple accolades, including the 2023 Curtin Law School Dean's Colleague Award for Engagement and Impact and the 2021 Excellence in Teaching Award. She actively participates in professional organizations such as the Law Society of Western Australia and the Australasian Law Academics Association, and serves as Co-President of the WA Society of Jewish Jurists and Lawyers Inc.
Her recent research explores tensions between academic freedom and institutional governance, as well as consumer rights in retirement village legislation. A key focus includes procedural fairness in academic misconduct investigations and employability perceptions among students.
