Dr Plamen Dinev is a Lecturer in Law at The University of Manchester, where he serves as course director for IP in the Digital Ecosystems and teaches Criminal Law. He is also a guest lecturer for the Diploma in AI and IP at Strasbourg University.
His research employs legal and empirical methods to examine:
- Intellectual property implications of emerging technologies
- Legal frameworks for 3D printing and AI
- Patent law evolution in digital ecosystems
- Criminal law intersections with technology
His publications focus on AI's impact on patent systems, inventorship concepts, and intellectual property in additive manufacturing. Research has been cited in governmental reports (Singapore, 2024) and US Supreme Court submissions (2023).
