Ping Wang, Ph.D., is a Professor at the Peter J. Tobin College of Business, St. John's University. He holds dual doctoral degrees in Actuarial Science/Risk Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and in Probability & Statistics from Nankai University. His expertise spans actuarial science, risk management, and insurance, with a focus on credibility theory, copulas, and regulatory compliance. He has been recognized with the Shin Award for Research Excellence and the Outstanding Journal of Insurance Issues Article Award.
Dr. Wang’s research explores corporate risk management strategies, premium setting methods, and reinsurance modeling. He actively contributes to academic discourse through publications in journals like Insurance: Mathematics and Economics and Journal of Insurance Regulation, supported by grants from the Society of Actuaries. His teaching portfolio includes courses on actuarial modeling, life insurance, and risk financing at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
