Dr. Pinar E. Dönmez is a Senior Lecturer in International Relations at De Montfort University’s School of Humanities and Performing Arts. She is affiliated with the Institute of Global Challenges and Cultures (IGCC), The Centre for Law, Justice and Society (CLJS), and The Centre for Urban Research on Austerity (CURA).

Her publications include analyses of authoritarian and neoliberal attacks on higher education in Hungary and Turkey, the political economy of Brexit, and the intersection of austerity, repression, and resistance. She has contributed to journals like Capital & Class, Feminist Dissent, and Critical Sociology, focusing on comparative case studies.
Recent scientific awards include the DMU Future Research Leaders Programme (2024-25) and the ESRC Accelerator Award (2023-24), alongside prior fellowships from TUBITAK and Warwick University.
