Pinar Canga is a Lecturer in Law at the Department of Law and Criminology, Royal Holloway, University of London. She previously served as a Visiting Lecturer at City, University of London. Her research focuses on refugee law, international human rights law, and migration policies, with a specialization in immigration detention of children in Turkey and the UK. She holds a PhD in Law from City, University of London, and an LLM in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex.
Teaching responsibilities include modules on Public Law, European Union Law, and Asylum and Immigration. She leads the Public Law and Law Dissertation modules and supervises PhD and dissertation students. Pinar is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, recognized for her contributions to teaching and student support.
Her research output includes peer-reviewed articles on EU policy impacts, immigration detention standards, and Brexit's legal effects on EU citizens. She has also contributed to pedagogical initiatives like pre-assessment podcasts for diverse learning communities. Awards include the College Team Teaching Commendation (2020) and the LSS Award for Excellence in Teaching and Student Support (2021).
Collaborative activities include an invited talk on addressing attainment gaps through belonging initiatives. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those addressing human rights and global migration challenges.
