Andrew Pitt

Dr. Andrew Pitt is a Lecturer in Law and Programme Director for the Public International Law LLM at Queen Mary University of London. He specializes in migration law, human rights, and critical legal theory. His research examines immigration detention policies and the role of human rights in legal challenges to UK immigration frameworks.

Research interests include migration governance, refugee law, public law, and interdisciplinary approaches combining critical and queer theory with legal analysis. His work has been published in the International Community Law Review.

Teaching focuses on Terrorism, Human Rights and Migration, Criminal Law, and Law in Context. He previously served as a judicial associate at the Federal Circuit Court of Australia and volunteered with Asylum Aid.
