Pilar García Carcedo is a Full Professor at the Department of Language and Literature Education, Faculty of Education, Complutense University of Madrid. She holds a PhD in Hispanic Philology (with the Extraordinary Doctoral Award) from the same institution, alongside a Licenciatura in Philosophy and Literature from the University of Deusto and a diploma in French as a Foreign Language from the University of Bordeaux. She has taught at universities in the Basque Country and Bordeaux before joining UCM.
Her research focuses on literature education, traditional tales, and creative writing. She leads the ELLI research group (Literary Education and Children's Literature) and has authored/co-authored monographs such as *Arcadia in Don Quixote* (1996, National Prize winner), *Literary Education and Creative Writing* (2014), and *Between Witches and Dragons* (2020). She has coordinated projects like *Virtual and In-Person Teaching of Literature* (2008) and *Rewriting and Upcycling Traditional Tales* (2020–21).
Her teaching innovation projects include *Creative and Digital Writing in the Classroom Using Traditional Stories* (2018–19), which explores digital tools for literary education. Awards include recognition for her doctoral thesis and Cervantine Studies contributions.
