Piero Colajanni is a Full Professor of Engineering at the University of Palermo, specializing in structural and seismic engineering. His research develops innovative solutions for seismic protection, including dissipative devices and hybrid structural systems.
Current projects investigate friction-based connections for earthquake-resilient buildings, tsunami vulnerability of masonry structures, and applications of geopolymer recycled concrete. Recent publications demonstrate expertise in seismic retrofit design methods and hybrid beam-column joint behavior.
Teaching includes Construction Technique Laboratory and Design of Structures in Seismic Areas. International collaborations span universities in France, Romania, and Spain through Erasmus agreements.
