Pier Luigi Novi Inverardi

Pier Luigi Novi Inverardi is an Associate Professor of Statistics at the Department of Economics and Management, University of Trento. He holds a PhD in Mathematical Statistics and has held visiting positions at Indiana University. His research focuses on entropy-based statistical methods, fractional moments, and sustainable tourism management. He teaches courses in Data Analysis, Mathematical Statistics, and Applied Statistics across multiple departments and doctoral programs.

Education: PhD in Mathematical Statistics (1994, University of Trento), Laurea in Political Economy (1988).

Research Interests: Entropy theory, fractional moments, sustainable tourism, statistical inference, and distribution approximation. He collaborates with the Emasus research group on tourism management and sustainability metrics.

Professional Roles: Rector’s Delegate for Master’s Degree Orientation, member of the Department of Economics and Management’s governing board, and coordinator of teacher training programs (PAS/TFA). He has supervised numerous theses and contributed to over a dozen research projects, including EU-funded initiatives.

Key Activities: Over 30 years of teaching in Economics and Mathematics, doctoral supervision, and leadership in statistical education. Active in national and international conferences, presenting on entropy methods, financial modeling, and sustainable development.
