Phyllis Brooks Collins, Ph.D. is the founding program director and assistant professor for the Integrated Studies program at Delaware State University. With over 25 years of experience in higher education, she specializes in student retention strategies, technology integration, and institutional assessment. She has led initiatives to implement systems like BANNER, Degree Works, and Blackboard, and managed programs to enhance student persistence and completion rates. Her roles include co-chair of the Middle States Periodic Review Committee and the University Strategic Planning Committee.
Dr. Collins holds a B.Tech., M.A. in Education (Curriculum/Instruction) from Delaware State University, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore. She has served in leadership roles including Executive Director of Academic Enrichment, where she oversaw programs supporting undergraduate learning and grant implementation.
Her research focuses on faculty technology adoption and trust dynamics in academic leadership. She actively participates in organizations like the International Leadership Association and the HBCU Regional Summit on Retention Steering Committee. Her work bridges educational leadership, technology systems, and student success through data-driven approaches.
