Phillip Ying is an Associate Professor of Viola at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, and serves as an Assistant Professor of Chamber Music. He maintains an active performing career as a violist with the Ying Quartet, which has held the Blodgett Ensemble-in-Residence position at Harvard University since 2001. His work spans international performances, Grammy-winning collaborations, and innovative community engagement projects.
