Phillip Shore serves as the Art Department Chair and Professor of Sculpture at the University of Dallas. His work explores human relationships with nature and environmental systems, informed by archaeological artifacts from Ancient Greece and cross-cultural observations. He holds an MFA from the University of Notre Dame and a BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.
His research focuses on integrating natural forms with human-made materials, emphasizing interconnectedness with the environment. Exhibitions span U.S. venues and include international participation in Georgia’s Rustavi International Sculpture Park. His work is represented by Craighead-Green Gallery (Dallas) and Sue Greenwood Fine Art (Laguna Beach).
Awardees include the Haggar Scholar Award and grants from Michigan and Arts America. Collections featuring his work include Purdue University, Akin Gump P.C., and public installations in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Shore maintains dual residencies in rural Michigan and urban Texas, reflecting his thematic exploration of contrasting environments. His artistic process combines formal sculptural techniques with intuitive engagement of natural elements.
