Phillip H. Larson is a Full Professor and Co-Director of the EARTH Systems Laboratory at Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a joint appointment as Graduate Faculty in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. His work bridges geomorphology, climate change, and human-environment interactions through field and laboratory research.

Research Interests focus on:
- Climate change impacts on geomorphic systems
- Geoarchaeology of river valleys and sand stringers

- Aeolian and periglacial processes in the upper Midwest
- Quantifying erosion rates via OSL and cosmogenic nuclide dating
