Erik Martin Lund is a Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Section for Geography and Hydrology (GeoHyd), holding this position since 2022. His academic journey includes postdoctoral research at Texas A&M University (2021–2022) and Lund University (2020–2022), alongside teaching and research roles at the Geological Survey of Sweden and Lund University. He earned a PhD in Geobiosphere Science from Lund University in 2018, with a thesis on aeolian dunes in central Sweden, following an MSc (2013) and BSc (2011) in Geology and Physical Geography.
His research focuses on Quaternary Geology, integrating Aeolian and Glacial Geomorphology with Planetary Geology, Sedimentology, and Remote Sensing. Key interests include reconstructing glacial and postglacial landscapes in Sweden and Arctic Russia, analyzing aeolian dune systems, and applying geochronological techniques like OSL dating. He teaches courses such as GEO1110 (Earth Processes), GEO3460 (Surveying), and GEO4410 (Glacial Geomorphology).
Lund's work bridges terrestrial and planetary contexts, with recent projects examining ice-dammed lakes in Sweden and glacial histories in the Taimyr Peninsula. His publications emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to understanding Quaternary environmental changes and geomorphic processes.
