Philippe PUDLO serves as Professor of Automation and Deputy Vice-President for a Sustainable and Inclusive University at INSA Hauts-de-France. His research is conducted at LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201 laboratory where he leads the Human Mobility and Disability (MH2) cross-disciplinary axis.
His academic credentials include a Doctorate in Industrial and Human Automation from UVHC (1999) and Habilitation to Direct Research in Automation (2010).
Professor PUDLO specializes in developing technological systems for disability compensation, rehabilitation, and autonomy preservation. His work bridges automation engineering with human-centered design, focusing on practical applications for mobility assistance and accessibility solutions. Key research themes include sensor integration for adaptive mobility devices and AI-driven rehabilitation frameworks.
He currently directs the Pole of Research and Innovation in Mobility and Disability (PRIMOH) in Hauts-de-France region, having previously served as Director of the Federative Institute for Research on Disability (IFRH). His leadership spans multiple institutional missions including Sustainable Mobility and Disability (2012-2015) and PRIMOH development (2015-2016).
Professional engagements include ethics committee membership at FIRAH/Handéo, research steering for APF France Handicap, and advisory roles for CERAH (Ministry of Armed Forces). As co-inventor of two international patents and author of 200+ publications, his work demonstrates significant translational impact from laboratory to real-world disability solutions.
