Philipp Sattler is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Contemporary Art (IZK), part of the Faculty of Architecture at Graz University of Technology. He is also a PhD student at the Royal College of Art. His work intersects architecture, agronomy, property law, and critical theory, focusing on the historical entanglements of agriculture, colonialism, fascism, and spatial practices.

Sattler explores performative and curatorial methods to investigate the ethical and political dimensions of land use and memorialization. His collaborative projects, such as the Aflenz Memorial in Becoming and the Sans Souci Collective, address global conflict, colonial legacies, and the spatialization of knowledge. His exhibitions and lectures engage diverse audiences through immersive installations and interdisciplinary research.
Scientific awards include the Mind the Gap - Award for Gender and Diversity Special Prize (2020). His work spans institutions like Kunsthaus Graz, House of Architecture, and international biennales, emphasizing the role of art in interrogating systemic injustices and historical amnesia.
