Antonia Majaca

Antonia Majaca is a research fellow at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage at Università Ca' Foscari Venezia and a faculty member in Art Theory at the Dutch Art Institute. She leads the long-term project 'The Incomputable' at IZK Graz, collaborating with Goldsmiths University and the University of Naples 'L’Orientale.' Her research focuses on critical environmental theory, political epistemology, and anti-colonial feminist praxis, intersecting art, academia, and activism.

She holds degrees in Art History, Comparative Literature, and Art and Politics from institutions in Zagreb and London. Her work includes curatorial projects like 'Kanon Fragen' at HKW Berlin and 'Feminist Takes,' exploring non-Western avant-garde cinema and feminist theory. She has been awarded grants from the Getty Foundation, FFWI, and others.

Majaca’s discursive interventions span conferences such as 'Limits and Horizons of Transdisciplinary Art-Based Research' and edited volumes like 'Parapolitics: Cultural Freedom and the Cold War.' Her practice bridges art, theory, and political critique, addressing topics like memorialization, post-Yugoslav politics, and neoliberalism’s impact on subjectivity.
