Philipp Roessner is a Professor of Early Modern History at the University of Manchester, holding dual PhDs in Economic History (University of Edinburgh, 2007) and Social and Economic History (Universität Leipzig, 2011). His research focuses on early modern monetary systems, German Reformation economics, Scottish commerce, and Cameralist political economy. He has published four monographs, including works on coin debasement and Martin Luther's economic thought. A former Heisenberg Fellow (2013-2015), he serves on editorial boards for academic series and is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries (Scotland).
