معرفی
Philipp Ehses is a Scientist at the Max-Planck-Institute for Biological Cybernetics and affiliated with the Department for Neuroimaging at the University of Tübingen, Germany. His work focuses on developing advanced MRI methodologies for distortion-free, high-resolution functional brain imaging.
He earned a diploma in physics from Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (2005) and completed PhD research in experimental physics at the same university (2006-2011), supervised by Prof. Dr. Peter Jakob. His doctoral thesis addressed "New Strategies for Fast Parameter Mapping in Magnetic Resonance Imaging".
- Research Focus: Ultra-high field (9.4 T) BOLD fMRI optimization using echo-shifted gradient-recall sequences and parallel imaging
- Key Contributions: Combining echo-shifting with interleaved slice acquisition to reduce distortion artifacts and T2* blurring
- Findings: Demonstrated 40% BOLD activation in veins and 4% activation in motor cortex with 1mm resolution
His current research explores trade-offs between image quality and scan time efficiency at ultra-high magnetic fields, including applications in auditory fMRI and signal processing techniques implemented through FSL FEAT analysis.
