Dr Philip Tanner serves as a Research Fellow in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering department at Griffith University's School of Engineering and Built Environment. He maintains active appointments at both the Queensland Quantum and Advanced Technologies Research Institute (QUATRI) since 2025 and the Queensland Micro and Nanotechnology Centre since 2009, with his primary office located at Nathan Campus (N74 1.09).
Tanner's research spans silicon carbide semiconductor devices, MEMS technology, quantum applications, and advanced sensor development. His work focuses on practical implementations in power electronics, energy conversion systems, and biomedical sensing applications, with particular expertise in 3C-SiC heterojunction devices, surge current protection, and photodetection systems.
