Philip Schuster is a Professor of Particle Physics and Astrophysics at Stanford University and Chair of the Particle Physics & Astrophysics department at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. His theoretical research identifies dark matter properties, develops new experimental tests beyond the Standard Model, and studies theories of long-range forces involving massless particles. He is actively involved in experiments like APEX (co-spokesperson), LDMX (physics coordinator), and HPS.
Schuster's recent investigations explore axion detection, milli-charge dark matter, accelerator-based searches for light WIMP-like particles, and continuous-spin generalizations of gauge theories. He mentors graduate students through research rotations and contributes to advancing instrumentation at SLAC. His publications focus on accelerator magnet design, radiation shielding, and beam dynamics for next-generation colliders.
